Organisational Structure of the Home
Mr and Mrs Rajabali have been in the care business since 1992 and have owned Barons Down since 1998.
Mrs Shirley Eyles is the Registered Manager overseeing the general running of the home. Shirley is a registered general nurse, with a managers’ award and has many years experience in nursing older people, including dementia care, palliative and end of life care.
Barons Down employs 5 Registered General Nurses (RGNs), all of whom have attended courses connected to the care of the elderly.
Our Health Care Assistants (HCAs) all receive training in Safety Compliance, Infection Control, Manual Handling, Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults, Nutrition, Dementia and Falls Risk Awareness.
We have 13 HCAs with various levels of QCF in Social and Health Care
Barons Down also employs two full time Cooks and one relief Cook. They are both experienced in the preparation of food for the elderly in a nursing home environment. Supporting the Cooks are two Kitchen Assistants, one full time and two part time. All kitchen staff obtained either a NVQ level 2 in Catering of a level 2 in food Hygiene” should be “All kitchen staff obtained either a NVQ level 2 in Catering or a level 2 in food Hygiene.
Barons Down also employs full and part time Housekeeping and Laundry Assistants and a Maintenance Man.
